Returning Home?

The moment we touched down in San Jose I could feel the energy of jungle. Still many kilometers away, its life-giving force spills over and can be felt even here on the harsh airport tarmac.

I felt at home immediately and navigated the many hurdles thrown at us with a seamless ease. The natural current clearly exposed itself and we were simple flowing with it.

Delayed in taxi then faced with over an hour wait in line at immigration, there was no way we were going to make our connecting flight to quepos.

I had made a poor gamble earlier when making the booking. One and half hours to clear immigration, customs, and walk to the domestic terminal was not realistic.  In hindsight, it is obvious that we were never going to make it.

Recognizing my error instantly I pivoted. Opening my phone, I made a few texts and  single call.   Before a single turn of the endless maze of people,  we had received credits for the flight and  a driver was already waiting for us at the door.  This was clearly the path we were meant to follow.

The three and half  to seven hour drive from SJO to Ojochal came in at just under six.  Average I guess, with someone else driving.  The weather was delightful and highlighted the spectacular landscape as we made our way south.  With each passing kilometer,  I could feel the jungle’s energy grow.

As in the past, upon reaching Dominical, I truly felt at home.  Surrendering to the comforting embrace of the jungle, I released a deep sigh.  Completely relaxed, physically and emotionally, a wave of joyful bliss washed over me.

Hours later, when the concept of time has once again become blurry, the familiarity of my location truly set in. The sights, sounds, and especially people, my people, this was no nostalgic moment.  I had step in right where I left off nearly a year ago,  as if I had been here all along.

Shenanigans in nature with beautiful people have ensued.  Experiences worth having again and again.  The magic contain within never fades.
